The Duke Startup Challenge, founded in 1999, is designed to help Duke's entrepreneurship community flourish, with a year long entrepreneurship competition followed by an accelerator program.

  Mitchel Gorecki - Chief Executive Officer   His prior role was a data scientist writing high frequency pricing algorithms for trading online advertising. The firm grew to 450 people, went public, and Mitchel went on to get his MBA from Duke.  Mitchel earned his BSE degree from Duke University, majoring in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, and economics with a concentration in finance.

She studied History & Public Policy with a certificate in Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Duke University.

  Patrick Wickham - Chief Technology Officer   Patrick has experience working at Cisco Systems, Southern Networks, Deja Mi and Duke OIT, where he managed a 28 person technical team.  Patrick earned his BS degree from Duke University, majoring in computer science and psychology.

  Laura Guo - iOS Development   Prior to joining LivingLab, Laura was an iOS developer at Fanatics and Slack. She was also a front-end web-developer for Duke University’s website.   Laura studied Computer Science at Duke University, where she was a Duke Technology Scholar.
